In the summer of 2009 I was at church during the day, as while Rev. Barry Raeburn was ministering to us for about a year, we held a vigil and prayer every day, for revival.  We had all been praying for some time.  I was praying in warfare and crying  for the town and the people, when suddenly I could see my Lord Jesus.

He was standing right in front of me, not two feet away.  He was crying, and the tears that fell from His eyes were like rain.  And His tears poured down in such big drops and seemed to cover everything.  And as I stood there crying in His presence, He said,”All the tears you have ever cried, I hold in My hand.  But who will hold My tears for this people”?

And I know He was asking,” Who will care enough to say”, “Here am I, Lord, send me”.

At another time, after that, I was at church when Gill Howard Browne was there.  And he was talking about going out on the streets to talk to people about Jesus.  I remember that I was very nervous about going out and talking to people I know, in my own town.  I was praying that God would make me bold give me courage.  When I heard the Lord say to me, “Do you love Me? And I said that I loved Him very much.  And He said, “Do you really love Me?”  “I love these others as much as I love you, and they will be lost if you do not go and tell them that I love them.”

I have prayed many times that none be lost, and so now it is up to me to go out and tell people about the great love of Jesus.  Thank You Lord, for waking me up!

I went to the hour of prayer at church this week.  I was just feeling like I needed to draw close to the Lord, and so I went.  We were deep into intercessory prayer, when suddenly, I saw a vision.  The clouds opened up through a perfectly round hole  that got larger until it was huge.  I could see blue sky above, and angels were standing shoulder to shoulder all around the outside of the circle, at the edge of the hole, which looked like a tube at this point because it went far up into the sky.  The outside of the tube was packed full of angels from the top to the bottom.  I could not see their faces, but they wore long white gowns, and I could see their wings very clearly.  The details in their feathers was beautiful.

Then suddenly, the blue was gone and bright light came blasting through clear to the ground.  It was so bright I couldn’t believe I could look at it without hurting my eyes.  The light shot through the wings of the angels and turned the colors into soft cream and golden yellow, and the light was coming through and separating into rays. I have never seen anything so beautiful!

The vision has not gone away.  I can see it as clearly as before, in my mind.  I remember thinking, “If I only had a camera, I could take a picture and show it to everyone.  It was that clear.

Thank You Lord for this wonderful vision!

I have been reading about John the Baptist lately, in Matthew 11.  Matthew 11:12 says, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now…”  I think “now” means from John’s preaching until the time of the preaching and teaching of Jesus.  Right when Jesus was talking.  That short span of time signified something important.  A “Shift”, if you will.

(v. 12)” And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force.”  Something was going on in heaven.  I believe because the Lord Jesus had come everything was changed.  The kingdom of God had come to earth in the person of Jesus the Messiah, (the anointed One).  Heaven and earth had changed from that time on, and would never be the same.  Also, I believe that there is much warfare involved in heaven and on earth as souls are pulled away from Satan, and brought into right standing with God.

(v. 13) “For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John”.  Before John started preaching, there was only prophesy.  For hundreds of years prophets had told of things to come, including to coming of the Messiah.  Suddenly, the prophesies had come to pass.  The prophesies about the future were fulfilled in Jesus.

(v. 14) “And if you are willing to receive it, He is Elijah who is to come.”  In Malachi 4:5, “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord”, the prophet foretold of the coming of Elijah again before the end.  Jesus was saying that John was the prophet they were waiting for.

(v.16) But what shall I liken this generation?  It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their companions, and saying: “We played the flute for you and you did not dance, we mourned to you and you did not lament”.

I believe Jesus is saying that the people do not see what has happened.  The people are not aware, no matter how much He tells them, that the kingdom of God is there, upon them, at that very moment.  They go about their business, doing what they always do and they are blind to the presence of God in their midst.

When women marry, we usually take our new husband’s name.  With that name comes many privileges.  We are called Mrs., we are identified with him, we use his bank account; in other words, everything that is his becomes ours also.  And that works both ways;  everything that is ours becomes his.

When we take the name of Jesus Christ, by accepting Him as our savior, everything He is and has becomes ours, and everything we are and have become His.  It is truly like a marriage.  But think about it for a moment.  He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.  He made everything.  He is the mighty God.  What He gives us is so much more than what we can give Him.  The Lord has given us His power and authority over all darkness and evil, even over sickness.  In Acts, chapter 3 of the Bible, Peter and John came across a man who had been lame from birth.  Peter said, “We have no gold or silver to give you, but what we have we will give you”.  In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk”.  The man was healed instantly.  There is power in the name of Jesus and He has given that name to us to use in our lives on earth.  We who abide in His Spirit, walk in His love and use His mighty name.

It’s like the Lord has given us a blank check.  We are to use that check for good and to help others.  He has signed His name at the bottom and it is legal.  That check might be the gift of prayer for others, or healing in your hands, or a smile and a helping hand for someone in need.

A blank check.  Wow!  Lord, help me to spend wisely the blessings you have given to me.  Show where there is need of any kind, so that I may help.  Lord, bring people into my path who need to hear about Your great love.  Help me to touch someone today, because I love You!

Abiding in the Vine.

Posted on: March 1, 2011

I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.  Every branch that abides in me and does not bear fruit is taken away, or lifted up, and every branch that bears fruit is pruned so that it will bear more fruit.   John 15:1-2

I am learning about grape vines and how they function through a book by Andrew Murray called The True Vine.  When the farmer goes through the field and checks his grape vines, he cuts them back to the last bud, so they will produce more branches.  And when the branches start to grow out, they need to be up in the sun.  The vines that are not producing are ‘lifted up’ out of shaded areas in the plant, into the sunlight.  This helps them to produce more and better grapes.

The vine provides nourishment and moisture to the branches as the plant grows.  The branch cannot nourish itself.  It is totally dependent on the vine, and would quickly wither and die without it’s support and nourishment.  In order to produce fruit, the branch must abide in the vine.

Jesus is the true vine.  Believers are the branches.  We cannot produce fruit unless we abide in the vine.  Many people think they will get to heaven just because they are good and kind, and try to do what is right.  But Jesus says that we must abide in Him and produce fruit.  Abide means to cling to, to be unseparated from, to be with every moment, to fellowship with closely, to depend on.  He wants us to abide in Him because He will give us the strength and nourishment we need.

As the branch of the grape plant abides in it’s vine and receives everything it needs to produce much fruit, so must we abide in our Lord Jesus.

I always thought producing fruit was saving souls, but it is more than that.  Every word we speak to others, smiles we give, kindness we show, these are all fruit.  We are to show love.  That was a hard one for me because I thought I would appear fake, but I have learned that you don’t have to actually feel love at the time, because the Lord will give you the love if you will obey and just show kindness to others.  And I am beginning to learn what love really is, because I am starting to feel His love for me in such a deep way.  I always knew He loved me.  It says so in the Bible, right?  But I never felt it.  Now, when I praise and worship Him, I feel His presence all around me, and I feel so loved I can barely take it in.

Thank You Father, for Your great love.  Help me to abide in You always, and to bare much fruit!       Only His!
